Kristy is
an entertainer in every sense of the word….and a truly
talented musical artist. Her magnetic personality and
infectious smile give her an unmatched stage presence, and
her vocal ability is superb. It all began in a suburb of
Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she began entertaining at the
age of five. Kristy’s mother guided her talents by involving
her in pageants, talent competitions, baton twirling, tap,
piano, and auditions for movies and TV commercials. As a
result, she appeared in commercials and Sears catalogs and
performed regularly in a local mall with a cast of
singer/dancers called the Mallkateers. As Kristy grew older,
she continued to entertain, despite the fact that she lived
in many different cities before graduating high school. She
accredits changing cities so often as part of the reason she
has such an outgoing personality!
Kristy graduated high school in a suburb of Atlanta,
Georgia, where she was involved in ensemble, theater,
volleyball, cheerleading, and student government. She went
on to attend college, but her studies were interrupted by
opportunities to entertain. She performed as a singer/dancer
at Six Flags Over Georgia, Opryland USA, and then on the
Regency Cruise Line. Thereafter, she settled in Nashville.
Kristy says the move to Nashville brought her desire to
entertain and her lifelong love of music together.
She taught herself how to play the guitar, honed her
songwriting skills, and began singing and playing at
writers' nights. Then she took her show on the road with her
band, Kristy Deck & Wild Card, opening for acts such as
Alabama and Diamond Rio. Kristy was well received by radio
and also appeared on several TV shows. She had the pleasure
of traveling overseas to Japan on three occasions to perform
full production shows that she produced; and to Belgium and
the Netherlands where she performed at various country music
events.
Along the way, Kristy wrote and produced two CD’s of her
own. “Sunbathin’ In The Nude”, featured on CD Baby, is a
collection of contemporary country songs that reflect an
attitude of strength and independence. It’s somewhat
autobiographical, as Kristy penned 7 of the 9 songs. “Neverland”,
her latest CD, is a diverse collection of pop songs, and was
also written and produced by Kristy.
One of the more unique qualities of Kristy’s talent can be
found in her impersonation of Reba McEntire. The opportunity
came along by accident, she says, but her polished
recreation of one of country music’s superstars is no
accident. It has earned her an esteemed reputation in the
impersonator industry and has become the most successful
endeavor of her career. Her resume of performances includes
cruise ships, casinos, conventions, corporate events, and
theaters, including Branson’s Legends in Concert, and the
Alabama Theater in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. |
